Dr. Allan Cohen in Melbourne

SPECIAL GUEST FROM THE USA :

Allan Cohen will be visiting Melbourne between Friday October 10th till 13th October. Local group meeting will be announced soon.

Allan learned of Meher Baba in 1964 as a member of an LSD exploration group led by Timothy Leary and Richard Alpert (now Baba Ram Dass).

When Allan was just finishing his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Harvard Baba asked him, Robert Dreyfuss, Rick Chapman and other young Baba-lovers to let America know that drug use was not an authentic path to spirituality.

He was in direct communication with Baba from 1965 through 1968. Encouraged to spread Baba’s message of love and truth, Allan delivered over 1,000 lectures and media appearances across America, Europe, Asia and Australia. He attended the first Amartithi in India in early February of 1969, the only Westerner in attendance who never met Meher Baba in person.

Now living in Washington DC, Allan has continued his work with Baba groups and individuals.

Allan’s presentations will feature perspectives on the psychological and experiential challenges of Meher Baba’s path and the practical implications of the New Humanity, all with a touch of humour, classic stories, the encouragement of controversial questions and lots of interactive discussion.

There was a gathering at the home of Mark & Stella McCammon on Sunday 15th June to meet Meherwan.

We had JAYASURYA, NAGAMANI & VEERENDRA RANGISETTY from Hyderabad come to our monthly meeting and share with us their wonderful stories from India. Their son Veerendra lives in Melbourne, whereas his parents who are visiting him will be returning soon.
JIM DOWLING played us some nice songs during the meeting.

Our guest-visitors were VIDYADHAR & JYOTI TAGADE from Chennai, India.

On the Saturday 1st of June 2013, ex-Melbournite and acclaimed singer-muscian , Raine Eastman-Gannett gave a performance of her wonderful music at 55 Brunswick Street Fitzroy.

On the following afternoon - Sunday 2nd June, another performance was given at Jasmine Fricker's home at 26 Afton Street Essendon West ( Aberfeldie ) , starting at 1:30pm.

LAST 2012 MONTHLY MEETING : MARK & STELLA'S NEW HOME

SHRIDHAR KELKAR VISIT TO MELBOURNE - 9 & 10 OCTOBER 2012

Dear friend, Jai Baba

This week over two nights we have the company of a well known Indian Baba lover and Trust board member. His name is SHRIDHAR KELKAR.

The arrangement here in Melbourne is to have a group-family gathering at a restaurant in Fitzroy on Tuesday, gathering at 55 Brunswick Street Fitzroy at 7:00 pm before preceeding to Umago Restaurant nearby.

On the following day - Wednesday, there is to be a meeting at 55 Brunswick Street Fitzroy at 7:30 pm to hear Shridhar talk about his life with Meher Baba.

All are welcome .

Shridhar recalled the stories of the early days of Meher Baba with His time with Upasni Maharaj and later on. His story telling was wonderful, painting an intimate picture of the lives of Baba's early followers which included also members of his own family.

TWINS MEETING AT CASTLEMAINE - 19th August 2012

The Twins - Baba's nephews - Rustom & Sohrab Irani, gave another fantastic performance of songs and ghazals which were favourites of Meher Baba and his close ones. Many numerous stories were recalled allowing us a small glimpse of life with the Avatar.

Baba lovers and friends from all over Victoria and interstate came for this wonderful event in the home of their very close friends Ann & Paul Smith.

A glorious feast followed the music including indulging in icecream later on. This was to celebrate Mani's anniversary and it was her request to the Twins to do.

The Twins visit to Fitzroy, Melbourne

The Melbourne Meher Baba group were presented with wonderful songs and tales from Baba's nephews - Rustom & Sohrab Irani in which they told us about their lives and times with their uncle and Lord.

A large turn-out by the local group made the day a wonderful event.

The Khilnani Family visit to Melbourne ; 5 - 7 June 2012

Raj gave a wonderful talk about his parents and of himself. The meeting was held at 55 Brunswick Street Fitzroy. This was the inaugural event for this there was a good attendance especially for mid-week. The Khilnani's then travelled to Avatar's Abode, Queensland for the celebrations of Baba's visit there in 1958, over the same long weekend.

A Feast followed....

Tom & Cathy Riley are coming to Melbourne, arriving June 3rd.

There will be a Melbourne Baba meeting at Mark McCammon's premises situated at 20 Queen Street on Saturday 4th June at 5:30 PM. There will be afternoon tea and a meet 'n greet for our American visitors.

Cathy has kindly agreed to sing a few of her songs.
