Dear Members & Friends:

IN MEMORIUM:  KHAYLA ROSE CHOI (2001-2015)

Please join us in offering prayers on behalf of Khayla, that Beloved Baba might support and aid her in her transition to the next phase of her total life in His loving remembrance.

Kindly join us in prayers for the whole Choi Family.

Jai Baba!

Khayla Rose Choi passed away yesterday, March 14th in the afternoon at the age of 13. She was involved in a horrific automobile accident with her Mom, Penelope Choi, and Christina, the girlfriend of her brother Aaron. The three of them were driving a small Corolla on a two-lane road when a man in a large Tundra slid into opposing traffic for an unknown reason and hit the Corolla head-on at 55 mph.

Peni has been heavily injured with broken arms and legs and a fractured hip. She underwent one surgery last night and is conscious and talking, and will be undergoing several other surgeries this week. Christina Jarrett is in critical care, and her family is with her. Her injuries are severe, and it is not clear whether or not she will long survive this ordeal. Michael and the other Choi brothers are now en route from India and will be united with their family soon.

Our loving thoughts and hearty prayers in Beloved Baba's name are with the dear Choi Family at this challenging time.  Jai Baba!

Last year, the wonderful LA-based musician Sheela Bringi shared devotional music with us for our celebrations of both Amartithi and Meher Baba's Birthday.  A highlight of those events was Sheela's call-and-response 30-minute session of singing Meher Baba's name -- an experiment we look forward to repeating, as part of a rich program of wonderful music dedicated to the Beloved, in celebration of Baba's birthday (February 25, 1894).

Group Update:

This week (February 10) we studied The Stages of the Path (6th ed. Vol. II, pp. 18-26; revised 6th ed. Vol. II, pp. 9-18; 7th revised ed., pp. 128-134). Our favorite passage was: "All persons have to pass through the state of bondage, but this period of bondage is not to be looked upon as a meaningless episode in the evolution of life. One has to experience being caged if one is to appreciate freedom."

Next week we'll study Arriving at Self-Knowledge
(revised 6th edition, pp. 27-34). Hope to see you on the 17th!

7:00 pm - 7:30 pm:  Snacks & Tea

7:30 pm - 9:00 pm:  Discourse Discussion

In this new, ongoing series we chronologically read and discuss a new section from Meher Baba's Discourses [link to online edition] each week to learn more about the perfect guidance they offer for navigating today's complex world. By discussing what Baba has given us, we'll deepen  and enrich our understanding of His Divine guidance.

Any and all interested younger-generation spiritual aspirants are warmly welcome to come join these meetings  (whether new to Meher Baba's work or 3rd generation Baba-lovers!)

A Facebook page has been launched for this series:

Youth Discourses (on Facebook)

This week's update:

We began our study of sanskaras this week with the Discourse on "The Formation and Function of Sanskaras" (6th ed. Vol. I, pp. 54-64; 7th ed. pp. 32-39). One of our favorite lines was, "The formation of sanskaras starts in the most finite center, which becomes the first focus for the manifestation of the individuality of the soul."

Next Tuesday (Sept. 23), we'll read and discuss "The Removal of Sanskaras (Part I)" (6th edition pp. 65-76; 7th edition pp. 40-48). We hope to see you there, but if you can't make it, think about reading the section we'll be studying just to stay current with the group.

Sunday, September 28:
11:00 am - 11:30 am:  Coffee / tea / fellowship
11:30 am - 1:00 pm:   Meher Baba's New Life, Part I
                                by Ed Flanagan

Meher Baba & Adi K. Irani (1949)
Meher Baba's "New Life", a special phase of spiritual work lasting more than two years (beginning October 16, 1949), was a period characterized by renunciation, extensive travel and pilgrimage, and various spiritual adventures undertaken by Meher Baba with a circle of "companions" (rather than "disciples," for in the New Life phase, Meher Baba renounced not only worldly belongings, but also any claim to spiritual status, taking instead the position of a seeker of God). This unique period of Meher Baba's work has been viewed as involving the setting of archetypal patterns of spiritual aspiration, thought, feeling, and attitude that may bear fruit in the spiritual life of the New Humanity in future generations. Meher Baba's New Life companions were repeatedly admonished to remain cheerful amid every hardship and difficulty -- a challenge that Baba-lovers today might seek to emulate and remember.

Ed Flanagan, who in the past has shared with us from his extensive writings about Meher Baba, will dip into that well once again in a sequence of two programs (of which this is the first) exploring the experiences and ideas that comprise Baba's New Life.
2 weekends / 4 days in October --
October 18-19 & October 25-26:
All-day / four-day Seminar with Ward Parks

Join us for a detailed exploration of Meher Baba's metaphysical magnum opus, God Speaks, in a special in-depth seminar by visiting scholar of Meher Baba literature, Ward Parks, Ph.D.

Please mark your calendars!

Further details will follow in subsequent circulars.

"Avatar Meher Baba's Last Warning to those who love Him, obey Him and all who would want to do so.

Baba wants all His lovers to know that:

Meher Baba (1968)

This is a very critical period of the Avataric Age and all His lovers must strive to their utmost to hold His daaman very firmly so that it does not slip out of their hands under any circumstances. It is very important for all His lovers, especially in this critical period not to succumb to lust. Temptations are and will be great, but your love for Him should be greater. Remember Him wholeheartedly and rise swiftly from where you have fallen to march ahead in His love & service. It is equally important at this critical period of the Avataric Age to beware at all times of persons who lead others into believing that they are saintly and pious and profess to possess supernatural powers. However pious such persons appear to be, a Baba-lover must never mix such piety with the Divinity of the Avatar! A true Baba-lover must remember the repeated warning given to all Baba-lovers time and again to stay away from persons who feel and assert that they are masters and saints and possess powers to help human beings. His lovers and workers should never get involved with such persons and affairs, much less with perverted "helpers of humanity" who have no reverence or regard for the Perfect Masters and the Avatar of the age. Beware of them who exploit spirituality to gain their selfish ends and dupe others in the name of Sadgurus and the Avatar. His lovers and workers should not get intimately involved with the family affairs of one another, and they should not be emotionally upset by the personal affairs concerning any of their families. They should NOT let any personal affairs vitiate their relationships with one another, or affect their efforts in the work they do for the cause of Truth. He wants His lovers and workers who are spreading His message of Love to others, to share His love among themselves and to uphold the spirit of harmony and understanding in His name. He wants them to be less aggressive toward others and less tolerant towards themselves; and above all He wants them to love Him wholeheartedly for He is the Ancient One who loves them more than they can ever love themselves."

This Year's Sahavas Special Guests

  • Mehera Arjani
    Psychologist / Life Coach
In her own words:  "I was born on 21 February 1959, in Pune, in a family of Baba lovers going back 3 generations before I was born. Baba was part of our family in a very real sense, and treated our home [Bindra House, in Pune] as His. I have one sister, my parents are still alive (Sam & Roshan) as is my uncle Meherwan Jessawala.  I grew up with Baba. I am divorced, and have one son, Sheriar, who is now 28 and is a special gift from Beloved Baba. I worked for many years as a behavioral psychologist and life-coach in the UK where I lived until 2010, and still work with clients via Skype, but my life right now is dedicated to looking after my uncle Meherwan, editing his memoirs and doing any and every bit of work that Baba gives me as prasad, in and around Meherazad.
  • Adrienne Shamszad
    Singer / Songwriter / Guitarist
Adrienne Shamszad is known for her special blend of folk, soul, blues and Eastern influenced improvisational vocals. As a teenager, Adrienne studied guitar with Cindy Lowe (songwriter and Baba-lover), with whom Adrienne, at age 18, traveled to India. In India, Adrienne connected deeply with Meher Baba and His message. Since then, she has navigated her way through music, songwriting and adulthood with Baba as her guide. Her debut album A New Life (2008) is available online. Adrienne performs original music as well as covers of familiar Baba tunes. Adrienne teaches voice and guitar, concertizes widely on the West Coast, and is currently recording new music in Oakland, California.

Meherabode is felt by many to be among the loveliest of Centers devoted to Meher Baba in the United States. It is a secluded one-acre sanctuary in a residential area a bit south of Hollywood, nestled among mansions from the 1920's with the elegance and style of that period. There is a serene atmosphere and palpable presence of Baba's sweetness amid the lovely gardens, along the walking paths, and within the cozy meditation chapel (or mandir) called "the Dome" (glimpsed above).  Meherabode's large Meeting Hall is the perfect setting for talks; and Meher Baba Books (our bookstore) is nearby (located just through the glass doors)Meherabode also features a little Tea House with a small kitchen for intimate chats with friends, and a large area for al fresco dining where you can enjoy the lovely Southern California summer climate.

Sunday, May 18:
11:00 am - 11:30 am: Coffee / tea / fellowship
11:30 am - 1:00 pm: Mehera & Meher in Prague, OK

In this second installment of a bimonthly series exploring the book Mehera-Meher, hosted this time by Baba-lover and Baba-scholar Ed Flanagan, we will all delve further into the rich 3-volume biography of the Beloved's beloved. The discussion and sharing this time will focus on Meher Baba's first automobile accident (suffered near Prague, Oklahoma, in 1952) while driving across the United States, with attention to Mehera's role in that dramatic scenario of the Avatar's universal work

In this special program Ed Flanagan, who was among the founding board members of the Avatar Meher Baba Heartland Center (Prague, Oklahoma), will present his years of research on Meher Baba's 1952 accident.
Ed's research includes material from the following original published sources:

Lord Meher , Naosherwan Anzar's Mehera and his magazine Glow International, David Fenster's Mehera-Meher, Filis Frederick's The Awakener Magazine, Ivy Duce'sHow A Master Works, Margaret Craske's Still Dancing with Love, Meher Baba's Beams on the Spiritual Panorama, Kitty Davy's Love Alone Prevails, and the Heartland Center Newsletter

This hour-long presentation will draw on Ed's book (not yet published) Christ Come Again, from Chapter 46,The Trail of Tears, and Chapter 47, Oklahoma --"'Oh What a Beautiful Morning," and will trace the story of Baba's journey from Myrtle Beach across the mid-west toPrague, the care given Meher Baba and his party at Dr. Burleson's clinic there, and Baba's eventual return trip to Myrtle Beach two weeks later.

[Note: Ed Flanagan has memorialized some of his recollections of meetings with Mehera in a written account; we recently published (online) an excerpt from this writing in Issue No. 2 of the Meherabode Gazette; see: Memories of Mehera.]

Come enjoy with us this rare, in-depth exploration of a special phase of Meher Baba's universal work in America, and the role played therein by the Beloved's beloved.

Jai Baba!
Sunday, May 25:
11:00 am - 11:30 am: Coffee / tea / fellowship
11:30 am - 1:00 pm:  Film of Meher Baba:
Journey with God

In our monthly Baba film series, this month co-hosts Marc Brutus and Brent Carter will screen the rarely-seen film Journey with God (1991, produced by Meher Prasad), and will lead an open discussion of this fiery phase of Beloved Baba's work, when Meher Baba made extensive tours of Hamirpur District (in rural north India) and Andhra Pradesh (in rural South India), venturing into village after village, where the villagers greeted Him in much reverence and love. During this journey, for the first time Baba openly accepted the title of Avatar, indeed declared himself to be the Avatar of the age, and was for the first time hailed with the now-familiar greeting "Avatar Meher Baba ki jai!"

This group sharing will include material from Lord Meher, Glimpses of the God-Man by Bal Natu, poetry of Francis Brabazon, excerpts from Francis's chronicle of this period entitled Journey with God, and more.

A feast for the ears, eyes, and heart!

1962 East West Gathering, Excerpt from"My Children"

POSTED 14TH SEPTEMBER 2014

Children Gather to Adore the Beloved Through
Song, Art and Music

The second Beloved Meher Baba Children's Sahavas was held in New Jersey last weekend. It was a day of fun for children and those young at heart, while we maintained a spiritual theme. Fourteen children from the ages of 2-12 years, Baba lovers and non-Baba lovers attended the Sahavas with their families from different states. The entire day was filled with Arts and Crafts, Music, Circle and Story time with Guest Speakers, Games, Baba Videos and a Final Presentation. For the Arts and Crafts outdoor activity, the children were given fabric paints to make T-shirts. It turned out to be a hot and humid day, but the little ones were eager to dig their little hands into the paint. Creativity poured out as the children painted lions, tigers, hearts, smiley faces, stars and beautiful Meher Baba messages on the T-shirts and the fabric that was given to them.
Children paint on T-shirts beautiful Meher Baba messages.
Rhymetime began with reading from a poem by one of Baba's mandali, Meheru Irani. The children were given an opportunity to come up with their own Baba rhymes as well. They learned two Meher Baba songs, Begin the Day with God by Framji Cyclewala and Don't Worry Be Happy Forever by Madhusudhan Pund.

Circle time and story Interpretation began with a short story by Prakash Dheram, who talked about his family's connection with Meher Baba. It was followed by a wonderful story by Naosherwan Anzar about one of Prem Ashram boys and Baba. The children were then given the opportunity to interpret the story through drawing and/or writing.

The children learned two Meher Baba songs, Begin the Day with God by Framji Cyclewala and Don't Worry Be Happy Forever by Madhusudhan Pund.
The program ended with each child getting a love gift and a certificate of attendance. There was a small presentation where the children showed off their T-shirts.

The program ended with each child getting
a love gift and a certificate of attendance. There was a small presentation where the children presented both the songs they learned to their parents and volunteers. They also showed off their T-shirts, and surprised when they saw that the 9x9 cloth they had worked on, was stitched into a quilt. There were also two surprise performances: a beautiful Hindi song "Tum hi ho" which was performed by a 6-year-old boy who had turned it into his own song by contributing a few English lyrics to it; the other was a skit performed by three talented children who had practiced the skit through skype as they lived in different states. The skit was about a King who sends his Minister in search of God, and finds out about God through a small boy.

What was amazing to see between the children was not only their creativity but their sense of togetherness. There was beauty in their innocence and the love for one another, even though most of them were meeting each other for the first time. It was truly a Baba-filled day, as even those who were new to Baba were singing songs in his praise. This can only happen due to his Grace.

Vimala Yeditha and Shilpa Kalvapudi stitched a quilt of the cloth pieces on which the children
had painted quaint messages of love.

The entire Sahavas program was organized by Shilpa Kalvapudi along with a number of volunteers.

Youth Sahavas at Beloved Archives

The Summer months have been 'cool' at Beloved Archives despite the sweltering heat. The Youth Sahavas brought in a number of young people for an intense session of learning and spiritual discussions. The program opened with Naosherwan Anzar narrating his teenage years with Meher Baba and sharing some of the personal messages he received from the Avatar. "For spiritual aspirants renunciation is of help, but those who love the Avatar and are under His direct guidance do not have to "renounce" anything. The lovers of the Avatar have simply to obey the Avatar's instructions and to love Him wholeheartedly."

Young boys and girls learn how to preserve Meher Baba's artifacts.

How to preserve the Beloved's artifacts, clean and rehouse rare documents and photographs and the need to share material with seekers everywhere, drew a great deal of enthusiasm from the young boys and girls gathered for the Sahavas. Some of them wore masks, held brushes and worked on documents at Beloved Archives.

Participants at the Sahavas discuss issues of disappointment and the need to be happy under all circumstances in the Garden of the Beloved.
John Annunziato filming the sessions at the Sahavas.

The highlight of the Sahavas, led by Shilpa Kalvapudi, was a lively discussion on the theme of "Don't Worry Be Happy. Thediscussion topics ranged from "Dealing with Disappointment" to how faith in Beloved Baba pulled us out of difficult situations.Do expectations get us disappointed and how can we maintain a positive attitude even when we are disappointed? These and other questions we deal with in our daily lives brought to the surface an understanding of what Meher Baba means to not worry, but to be happy in all circumstances.

The very first Youth Sahavas was a success with John Annunziato filming all the sessions.

Thank You Baba! Thank You Friends!

Dear family and friends in Baba,

All of us on the 2013 Board of Directors here at the L.A. Baba Center (Meherabaode) want to thank all of you who donated so generously in response to the fund-raising letter you received in May. Thanks to you, we raised nearly $18,500, putting a big dent in our annual operating budget of $62,700.

Those of you who took us up on the offer to cram sanskaras into your return envelopes must be feeling lighter since the envelopes were consumed in the flames of our annual Silence Day Sahavas Dhuni.

In case you didn't receive the fundraising letter, or forgot to make a donation, or are now wishing you had, we've got more dhunis coming up, so we'll be happy to take whatever sanskaras and/or funds you can manage to send. (The funds are tax-deductible, the sanskaras merely deductible.)

AND THAT'S NOT ALL -- Don't forget our special offer: anyone who donates $500 or more will receive a combination spaghetti pot/clam steamer from world-famous Big Lots -- They make nifty wedding or graduation gifts, yet, so far, all the qualifying donors have declined them, so I've got about 200 of them in my garage.

You can send checks, made out to:

Jai Baba!

Dear Meherabode (AMBCSC) Members
and Friends
:

The Sahavas Committee is seeking additional help in the planning of this year's Urban Sahavas, scheduled for July 4 to July 6, 2014. We extend this invitation to Baba-lovers of all ages, and want particularly to take this opportunity to communicate directly with younger people in our community.

Generational perspective: There are some 50 million adults in the U.S. between ages of 18 and 35. Some among this vast generation are connected to Meher Baba either through their own happy discovery or through connections via their parents or friends or relatives; and it could be said, they are the future of Meherabode here in LA and of the global Meher Baba community. Why? Because they have energy, ideas, creativity and passion . . . and some of those delightful things are perchance diminishing or wearing away as we more-seasoned Baba-lovers grow older. It should be a priority of Meherabode to invite and empower this newer "Millennial" generation to use their gifts for the benefit of humankind and for the purposes of God (Beloved Baba).

In our annual calendar at Meherabode, the Urban Sahavas -- held over a long weekend just prior to Silence Day each July -- has a special place. It's a bit like summer camp -- where we shift from our habitual frames of reference and get our spiritual batteries recharged. Let's think about ways of opening up Meherabode overall, and this year's Urban Sahavas in particular, to the fresh energies of a new generation of Baba devotees. And if you (or those in your contact) are among this generation, your participation both in the Sahavas itself, and also in aspects of its planning, would be especially welcome.

If you have questions regarding the LA Urban Sahavas Committee, please feel free to contact Fred Stankus (gigifred@aol.com) or Lois Jones (bnelliej@gmail.com).

The next LA Urban Sahavas Committee Meeting will be held Sunday, March 9, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at Meherabode. We hope to see you there!

In Baba's love and service,

 AMBCSC Urban Sahavas Mission Statement
  • In accordance with the AMBCSC mission, the primary purpose of the AMBCSC Urban Sahavas is to host an annual gathering to share in the company of Beloved Avatar Meher Baba. Sahavas is a gathering of people who choose to come together to celebrate His words and experience. This event differs from the ongoing meetings at Meherabode in that it is a scheduled, two to three day "retreat" in the city.
  • The Committee that plans and coordinates the Sahavas shall be determined in a democratic manner as stated in the AMBCSC By Laws and is under the support of the AMBCSC Board of Directors. As Meherabode is the host of this event, we are inspired by Beloved Baba's compassion as well as His advice to His lovers to be practical. We open our hearts and doors to all who wish to attend. We aspire to never turn anyone away from this gathering at Baba's home in Los Angeles. Our goal is to cover all costs by whatever manner the current Board of Directors deems appropriate.

Baba House Picnic In The Park

Sunday June 16, 2pm

Our first picnic event in Central Park this year!

Meet just inside the park entrance
at 103rd Street and Central Park West.

(B and C trains, M10 bus all stop here and street parking
is available if you look for it).

Assemble near the pond that’s just to the right as you pass through the entrance. We will seek out a shaded area in this lovely, very special spot in a park that Meher Baba visited several times and was driven through all over as well. Public restrooms are available up the stairs immediately near this entrance to the Park. In the event that it is already crowded when we arrive to set up a large enough spot, we will be in the area up these stairs: follow the left-hand fork at the top — we will seek out a shaded area within view of the public restrooms at the left side of the circular walkway (the “Great Hill”). Hopefully, as usual, we will be right near the lake.

Paul and Shelly Steiner are the arrangementwallas for the picnic.

Their home number is 718-896-8266
and for the day of the picnic, Paul’s cell is
718-216-6647
and Shelly’s is
718-607- 8272

IN CASE OF RAIN this event will be rescheduled to a new date, to be announced.

Word is spreading about the third annual Avatar Meher Baba Music Sahavas. This event began with a whim and has now taken on a life of its own. The first two gatherings were heartfelt and joyous, and this year promises to thrill the hearts of all who attend. It’s an opportunity to share your own music to Baba in our Round Robin, hear short sets, learn new songs, participate in singalongs, attend workshops and hear invited guest musicians in concert. You can meet other Baba musicians from all over the country, and, above all, join in praising our Beloved Baba together.

Heartfelt greetings from the

Avatar Meher Baba Heartland Center

this May 24th, 2013!

Avatar Meher Baba Ki Jai!

Baba alone knows His work - He is the preserver and protector of all! Out of destruction will come new life. Baba's love is surely at the center of all activity witnessed in the heroic stories of the rescue and recovery efforts by many. Our hearts go out to all the people of Moore, Oklahoma.

In the midst of the apparent devastation that occurred here in Oklahoma on Sunday and Monday, what an amazing week we have had at the Avatar Meher Baba Heartland Center during the annual board retreat as well the time gathering with the local Oklahoma Baba group.

Today is the day we gather, be it physically or virtually,

to Remember Him in an special way, setting aside all distractions,

to Remember what He has done here, May 24th,1952, 'for the benefit of All Humanity',

Today is the day we ponder this earth changing event and just what it all means.

We not only think about it, contemplate it, but FEEL it and it's significance, and embrace it as best we can.

Baba, in His Love, shed His blood here, 61 years ago.....

There is so much to that event - who will ever be able to get to the bottom of it, and it's full meaning? The left side of His body and His face was broken and copious amounts of blood were shed upon the soil.

Dearest Mehera, His beloved, actually suffered the most, her skull being shattered beyond normal recognition, and no one expected her to survive, her beautiful forehead was left scarred for the rest of her life.

What must both Baba and His Beloved Mehera been thinking and feeling for each other through all this? Oh the undertones of love and anguish, underneath the obvious outward physical injuries....this is an aspect of that event that is most worthy of pondering as well.

Then Baba spent 12 days in a still and secluded place in middle of America, in what was literally known in the past by the American Govt as 'No Man's Land', doing What?

What intense Universal Work He must have been doing during those 12 days here.....?

So much to contemplate and feel about this event.....with all it's multitude of ramifications and implications....

To the Glory of God

and To the Return of Christ to Earth,

Meher Baba, Merciful Father,

and To His American Sacrifice,

and the shedding of His Blood,

for the sins of many,

and for the errors of a nation,

which lead to the Trail of Tears,

and to His Unfathomable Love,

which alway IS, always Was and always Will Be,

and to His work on earth,

the greatest of works,

and beyond all other works.

And to the Avatar Meher Baba Heartland Center,

dedicated to Him and to His Remembrance,

that multitudes may come to know His and Love Him,

and to Understand what He has done.

Avatar Meher Baba Ki Jai!

John Poag

Subject: [Baba] Prague is OK

Dear Baba lovers -

The Oklahoma Baba lovers and Heartland Center board members wanted to let you know that all is well at the Heartland Center in Prague, Oklahoma. As you know, Oklahoma has been hit very hard with devastating tornadoes, and loss of life. Our hearts go out to all the families who have lost loved ones....so many children....in this sad ordeal.

As Baba would have it, board members were at the Heartland Center, where we annually gather during Baba's accident week. This year the board gathered a bit early to do special board work.( I had a schedule conflict so could not attend and am writing this from my home.) Also currently at the Center are several pilgrims, our part time caretaker, as well as Baba lovers who came to provide support to the board, and OK Baba lovers. On Sunday night they all huddled in the small furnace room in the cellar of the Burleson House. Luckily, though there were very strong winds, there was no power outage. With a trusty guitar accompanying the cozy band of Baba lovers, singing Baba's name, all was well. A tornado did touch down in the next town over from Prague, Shawnee, and there was one casualty there.

Monday afternoon's tornado in Moore, OK, was much more devastating. Again, there was no power outage at the Heartland Center and Baba's prayers were said, and all watched films of Baba. Today, Tuesday, 3 board members will fly out of the OKC airport. Hopefully, the roads will be clear for their journey to the airport. Several Baba pilgrims, and our board president, John Poag, remain at the Center for a few more days.

Thank you for your emails asking about the Heartland Center. Tornadoes, earthquakes, drought...this is the place on earth where only He knows the work He has done, and continues to do.

In His Love,

Debbie Nordeen

*Announcing Caretaker Openings at the Heartland Center – Permanent and
Interim*

What an adventure, serving Baba in this unique way.

Jai Baba!

Please help spread the word about our caretaker openings. This is a
wonderful opportunity to dedicate oneself in His service - supporting
pilgrims who are seeking to know more about Him.

The* *Avatar Meher Baba* *Heartland* *Center* *is* *dedicated to
Avatar Meher Baba as an oasis of His remembrance. Located in Prague,
Oklahoma, in the former home of Dr. Burleson, who served Baba during the
1952 automobile ‘accident’, the Center* *is* *a place for information,
retreat, prayer, pilgrimage and study of Baba’s unifying message of divine
love.

The term for our hard-working current caretaker, Ginna Bourisseau,
will be up in June 2012. We are putting out the call for new caretaker(s).
We also would love to have more volunteers on our interim caretaker list.

We are looking for Baba-ful, capable, responsible, keepers of the
keys and care-givers to Baba's Heartland Center. Some tasks include
welcoming and guiding pilgrims, and the upkeep of the Burleson house.

For the permanent position we generally ask for a commitment of a
three-year term but we are flexible. Ginna’s term was one year.  We’d also
like to expand our list of interim caretakers, whose love service is
usually required for one or more weeks.* *The caretaker positions are
volunteer positions and due to allergy concerns for pilgrims, no pets are
allowed. If you are interested in exploring the idea of dedicating time in
Prague serving the Beloved at this center in the Heartland, either as
full-term or interim caretakers, please contact the board at* **
